Didn't her parents send away most of the staff etc specifically to isolate her so she couldn't hurt anyone else and try and help her control her magic with no one else seeing? And keep her in her room while trying to train her? I agree it's about accepting oneself, but she only needs to do that as an adult because she hurt her sister by accident, her parents freak and try and get her to control her powers, whereas before they just let her get on with dealing with them herself. The accident scene show Elsa could control her powers fairly well before the accident scared everyone (and the accident, iirc, was only because she 'threw' her ice eithout realising where Anna would be flying after sliding off the last piece of ice, not because she was actually being stupid or trying to hurt her).

No, they didn't want others finding out and hating Elsa for it since she couldn't control it yet. They, like Elsa, took the "Fear will be your enemy!" warning to mean fear from others who would try to harm her. Also, they just separated the rooms. We see Elsa locking herself in her room.

Also, no, she freaked out, reached for her sister and the ice flew because she was worried and her emotions reacted with her powers. She would never be fine with just reassuring herself, or with just reassurance. That was the first time her powers hurt someone and her sister had to have her memories altered because of it.
