Re: do u thank as a hole that republicans are stoopid

I'm not Iceyred. Not a Republican at all - if I'm criticizing the Democrats, it's usually from the left.

I just don't think it's useful to gloss the right in that way. We can say that they're wrong without assigning it to some kind of fundamental personal flaw. It's a pretty comprehensible thing, for reasonable people to disagree on the world. And it's both inaccurate, and harmful to the basic concept of a body politic, to pretend otherwise.

Like, in what sense is right-wing ideology 'a death cult'? That's kind of a ridiculous assertion and it doesn't in any way align with the way that right-wing people I know talk, or the actual claims that they make. You don't have to agree with the reasons for their beliefs, but goddammit we're human beings trying to live on this planet together.

And the right wants the rest of us off the planet. There are too many conservatives I know who would gladly kill me and everyone I know and love for it to be just a problem with a small group of individuals.

These are the people who would take away the basic human rights of others simply because their beliefs demand it.
These are the people to whom common courtesy is "commie political correctness" and is to be despised.
These are the people who would gladly deny rights to anyone who doesn't look like them, and then tell them to their faces that racism and sexism are dead and that asking for equal rights means asking for "special rights."
These are the people to whom "anti-racism" means "anti-white."
These are the people who clap at the thought of an uninsured person dying.
These are the people who are more upset at Obama for using unmanned drones than they ever were at Bush for sending thousands of soldiers to die doing the same job.
These are the people who refer to the unemployed and poor as "non-productive citizens" and feel that social safety nets have ruined America.
These are the people who would look at the tired, the poor, the huddled masses yearning to breathe free, and would not only send them back to the hellholes they're trying to escape, but shoot them in the back to make sure they don't try it again.
These are the people who think we need a wall to keep brown people out more than we need health care to keep people alive.
These are the people who would willingly destroy a woman's life by forcing her to give birth, but refuse to lift a finger to help her or her child until he (and always he) turns 18 and can go to war.
These are the people for whom the anti-choice movement was never about saving children, but for upping white births.
These are the people who feel that cops killing people is always justified, "just follow the law." Except when the law involves gay rights, of course.

Right wing ideology is a death cult because their belief in a lack of accessible health care, greater religious control, greater military involvement on the world stage, a lack of social services, and outdated and discredited social and fiscal policies can lead, do lead, will lead, and have led to greater rates of suicide, homicide, and deaths by preventable illnesses.

"Trying to live on this planet together" is librul talk. It marks you as a librul.

As far as I can tell, the conservative movement want Jeezus to come back on his UFO and take them to a giant megacity in SPACE.

Or they're Social Darwinists.

OK, not universally.

But the way some righties I have known talk, yeah, I believe some people do think that way.
