I understand your anxiety, but maybe it'll help to remember that you're not going to be the only non-skinny cosplayer there - not by a very very long shot. I can't promise 100% there won't be dicks out there in the world, but they will be everywhere, and I can guarantee that nice people who will just think it's awesome that you're cosplaying will outnumber them a thousand times over. You got nothing to be ashamed of, girl, and you clearly want to do it, so do it! :) As a cosplayer myself, I love it, I love the craft and the modeling, and most of all I love connecting with other cosplayers and fans at conventions. You'll have a blast, honestly. Do you have friends you can go with? Or cosplay friends who could help you brainstorm ways to get a costume together, maybe even help teach you to sew? I know there are places where you can buy them online, or even people who will offer commission so you can send your measurements and they'll make it for you, but I haven't tried that myself.
