But there's nothing there to base an opinion yet. The localized game isn't even out yet, not even any preview copies. At the moment, it's all pure speculation. What's the point of trying to decide based on that?

Fire Emblem: Fates.

AKA that game where you can marry your (adoptive) siblings (but still siblings) all around, but you only have one gay option for each sex and each is version exclusive unless you go the DLC third route and they're a known sadist and a stalker, fitting in with tropes this gay girl is tired of.

DA. This is Fire Emblem. Incest has been a part of the series since forever. And not just adopted incest, actual brother/sister incest and subtext.

Either learn something about the series or stop being fucking salty.

The fact that FE is okay with something as questionable incest (even if it's nothing new) and yet this is the bone they offer queer fans? Yeah that's shitty.

(I'm not a gamer and I don't go here, but... what does it matter if 'incest has been a part of the series forever'? It still sucks.)

FE's done better than this game, though. Maybe not explicit marriages, but I'd rather subtle and well done stuff than stalker clone characters and sadists being the only choices.

It's hypocritical for fans of the series to be like "ew Fire Emblem Fates has incest dats groce" when it has been happening in the games since literally the 90s. It's fine to hate incest! That's cool! But it's absolutely all through the backbone of half those games. It's nothing new, and all the pearl-clutching about it all of a sudden just reads like people who got into the series with Awakening and don't know anything about the past games.

That's the thing, I haven't seen pearl-clutching about incest on its own. It's always incest and some complaint two and some complaint three, and then people say "FE has always had incest!" and don't respond at all to complaints two and three.

Sibling/sibling is integral to exactly one game. Two if you count Thracia as an extension of Genealogy. And the siblings who actually do it in Genealogy don't even know they're related and are manipulated into it. Everything else people pull out is either tangential, optional, or exaggerated by fandom.
"FE runs on incest" is factual bullshit, and using what's there as handwaving to excuse the little sister fetish going on in this is ridiculous.

I agree that I want to wait until the game is at least released in English, and read reviews on that basis, before I make up my mind.

Sounds like you need to get off tumblr entirely for a while. Blacklisting never works there anyway since everyone tags using different terms or none at all. Even trying to just leads to frustration.
