I can tell the people who self-insert when they ship one female character with everyone or one specific character even when there is no canon basis for it.

It shouldn't bother me as much as it does but I can't help but feel grossed out that they are vicariously living their fantasies like the same kind of people who unironically enjoy 50 shades of grey.
