FUCKING MARK MILLAR. I keep seeing movies of shit he's done (long since learned to avoid the comics), and every single time he has any hand in the screenplay whatsoever I can tell it's going to be absolutely terrible.

Kickass wasn't that bad, albeit creepily bloodthirsty.

Millar wasn't involved in that script whatsoever. The movie came out parallel to the comic, though they diverged slightly in how characters were handled.

He had some involvement in Kickass 2, and look how that turned out.

I still can't keep track of the difference between Mark Millar, Warren Ellis, and Garth Ennis. (I can recognize Frank Miller, but let's face it, it's impossible to mistake Frank Miller.)

Warren Ellis is kind of punk, but writes about the glory of awesome science fiction technology, and awesome superheroes.

Garth Ennis is a hard man, a working-class man, you understand, who think superheroes are pretentious twats.

Mark Millar is a vegan who sees the world as a murderous horror, and so responds by writing stories that are as offensive to everyone else as our day-to-day existence is to him. He also likes rape.

In general, of the writers you've mentioned, I only like the work of Warren Ellis. He tends to be actually creative in (most of) his writing. He is also pretty damn funny and he gets himself out of the torturous mental holes that he sometimes falls down into and keeps things fresh. I don't like ALL of his stuff, but the vast majority of it, while sometimes crude, isn't vile.

The other 3 are responsible for works that are pustules on the gangrenous face of wretched humanity.
