I don't understand what it is about this art that so many people find so much more awful than other popular cartoons, like Gravity Falls and Adventure Time.

It might be that they don't find the art worse, but they're just much more likely to be exposed to it

I think all of those have dumb looking art. The style is grossly unappealing to me.

ironically I think SU looks much much better than Adventure Time, and that they are distinctly different.

I can't explain why but something about its art rubs me the wrong way. On the other hand I adore Adventure Time's art syle (the simple designs + noodle limbs look cute as fuck) and think Gravity Falls is okay.

I haaaate "noodle limbs" and such. It's... disturbing is the wrong word, but distaste based on feelings of wrongness? idk. I hate "goofy" art in cartoons.

+1. I actually find Steven Universe slightly more tolerable than Adventure time. (Gravity Falls is fine, though; I can't even see where this comparison comes in.)

Th triangle head. and the square head. I can't deal with that (same reason I could never watch a lot of cartoon network cartoons). Also the fact that grown women (aliens/whatever) are wearing a 5 year old's version of dance costumes.

Adventure time is the same, the psychedelic art drives me nuts.
