maybe it's not that they're avoiding drawing hair, maybe it's because they have a preference for hairless

TBH, good fanart (or fic) should be about the character's preferences, not the artist's.

I see what you mean, but fanworks can also (often) be about turning characters' preferences on the head. A few of those can even be good.

Honestly I'm not at all sure how you're supposed to extrapolate a character's preferences on their own pubic hair, so I don't think there's anything wrong with just applying your preferences instead

(Anonymous) 2015-09-24 12:29 am (UTC)(link)
The problem is when all your drawings have the same pubic hair, suggesting that you put very little effort into considering how or whether a character would choose to groom at all.

DA

wow I hate 'groom' as a euphemism for 'shave it all off'

I /groom/. I wash my hair gently with a little soap and run my fingers through it so it lies neatly and comfortably, with no tangles.

Shaving it off is pretty much the opposite of that.

Your problem lies in assuming that "groom" actually means "shave it all off". You can groom hair a number of ways, only one of which is shaving completely bare.

please, that's as much a headcanon as anything else. there are hardly any canons where pubic hair preference would be mentioned, so everything is an assumption.

(Anonymous) 2015-09-24 03:08 am (UTC)(link)
It's not a headcanon when every drawing has the same thing, as in OPs secret. It's laziness.
