I have preferences for everything. I don't like to be disappointed by anything I spend money on, and if I keep buying the same things all is well. Until they change the recipe/formula/whatever and I hate them forever.

I am a lot less specific in my choices since moving to Oklahoma. Mostly because stuff I am specific about is not sold here OR was discontinued :(.

:( that sucks. I wish they'd put a sign out before they stop stocking things so I can buy it all and hoard it.

There are things I can dislike and still live with, but I can't switch laundry detergent or body wash or anything that touches my skin, because I have reactions to most of the major brand ones. People think I'm weird for bringing detergent in a mini travel container when we go out of town.

It is like some sort of natural law: any product you really, really like will be new-and-improved out of existence.

Pretty much. My mom and I always joke that whenever we buy a certain brand of food/drink we enjoy, we shouldn't say aloud that we like it, 'cause it'll inevitably stop being made or sold in our area or something at some point :p.

I that feeling about changing recipes. Lipton changed their iced tea to add stevia but I think they added too much/didn't remove enough sugar. Now I only really like the Real Iced Tea Co., which is a Victorian brand that is gaining ground in Brisbane supermarkets.

Aaargh. That's annoying.
"New Recipe!" may as well just be "not even the same thing!".

Remember when Maccas changed their chip oil? What is this shit!?

Brisbane can be hit and miss with food. Until a couple of years ago there wasn't much variety in the alternative options (soy milk, vegetarian meals etc.) which was annoying for me and anyone who had to feed me when I visited.
