Certain Brands

My sister bought some Libby brand vienna sausages. Who knew such delicious mystery meat could be turned DISGUSTING? I've only eaten Armour so the Libby kind tasted really gross to me. That isn't the only thing I am super specific about. I only buy Nike sneakers, specifically Downshifters. It is like they were made for my feet.

What are some specific items you will only buy one brand of?

Cornflakes must be Kellogg's; oaty Os must be Cheerios (I'm more open to other honey-nut varieties, though).

Ah, the only cereals I am super particular about are Cookie Crisp and Pops. The rest I can eat the GIANT SUPER OFFBRAND BAGS!

I am stupidly particular about my shaving cream; it has to be EOS Vanilla Bliss. It's not that it's any more effective than any other one I've tried, but it's the only one where the smell doesn't cling to me for the rest of the day.

Yeah, annoying smells can be really annoying to spend the whole day with. There is one body soap that I LOVE and only comes out during the holidays. So I buy 3-4 to use during the year.

I only buy Kraft Singles. Any other brand of plastic cheese tastes really gross.

I only buy Sketchers sneakers. My feet are ridiculously sensitive and the skin above the achilles heel tends to get rubbed off by most sneakers or trainers. But I've never had any problems with Sketchers (any model) though so I just get those.

Once you find a shoe that works, it is hard to change! Shoes are so damn important.

I have preferences for everything. I don't like to be disappointed by anything I spend money on, and if I keep buying the same things all is well. Until they change the recipe/formula/whatever and I hate them forever.

I am a lot less specific in my choices since moving to Oklahoma. Mostly because stuff I am specific about is not sold here OR was discontinued :(.

I that feeling about changing recipes. Lipton changed their iced tea to add stevia but I think they added too much/didn't remove enough sugar. Now I only really like the Real Iced Tea Co., which is a Victorian brand that is gaining ground in Brisbane supermarkets.

Hellman's mayo.

I know a lot of people don't care for mayo but it's the only brand I'll buy. It appears to be a family thing as my uncle on the west coast of the US only uses Best, which is from the same company. No other brand compares. My in-laws use Miracle Whip, but that is some form of Devil's sorcery and totally unacceptable for any use at all.

Nothing, really. but my dad is insanely attached to Gulden's Mustard, so I usually buy that in his honor.

The only trainers I wear are Nike airforce ones.

Perfect fit, excellent shoes, I just happen to be massively not the target market.

To tell the truth, I doubt there's ever a brand I only buy that one of a product, but I have my preferences.

Quilton toilet paper. It's an Australian brand but mostly I like it because it's soft and I like multi-py paper I can actually split.

Real Iced Tea Co. Another Aussie brand that I found as it was just starting to appear in Queensland stores. Lipton changed their recipe and I try to avoid it (I still sometimes get Lipton, if I can't get RIT, but if it's not awkward to get the RIT, I'll go for it).

Cadbury chocolate. Up against Nestlé I will always favour Cadbury, because I think Nestlé is slightly too sweet. Up against something like Lindt? That's not an even playing field as Lindt is more gourmet.

Because of recent experiences, I think when buying cheaper supermarket loose leaf tea, I will stick to Twinings.

In a slightly inverse example, I prefer the cheap frozen chicken nuggets over ant of the "better" ones. I know they are probably all the leftover crap chicken... but I like them better.

Keen hikers. I don't even need to wear them in. Last time I went to three different stores before getting a clerk to take apart a mannequin to let me try on its shoes, and that was when I discovered them. This time I bought them online and they fit like a dream. I don't even need wide widths.

The time before that I went to six different stores before finding something that would do, and I *did* have to break them in.

Not really so exact, but I will only buy winter jackets that are Columbia, Firefly, or... I forget the other brand's name. I'd recognize the symbol. I live in Canada, and if I'm shelling out hundreds for a winter jacket, I want one I *know* will go the distance.
