Like the original anon you were replying to said, "prudish" is a negative descriptor to many people because it doesn't just imply strait-laced or proper, but (by the definition on the website you yourself linked elsewhere in the thread) excessively so, and usually is associated with snobby people who judge others for being irreverent or immodest. It's definitely a word that gets used as an insult.

I agree it's excessive like I said I think it's overkill

I would also think that squeeing hard and literally screaming in joy over a show that you OMG LOOOOVE is overkill

Luckily, other people's opinions on what's excessive or not mean nothing unless they try to stop you from doing it or impose their opinion on you out of the blue, and it's not like I'm giving this opinion unasked for since what other people think of this, is OP's entire question

^ Thinking an action is overkill also =/= judging what kind of person the one performing the act of going overkill is

e.g. I think smoking is bad, I don't judge smokers
