I guess it seems to delve into mental illness a lot? Or is that minimal and fandom likes to talk about it a lot?

/really just going off my dash here

I just don't want to be sad every other episode

I wouldn't say "mental illness" is a common subject. It does have a lot of plots about how the characters are coping or not coping with the loss of their leader, but dealing with your issues and not letting them drag you down is a major focus of the show. There are also a lot of lighter episodes, like one about putting on a play or another about visiting a friend's house.

A good introduction to how the show operates: http://ludusnovus.net/2015/05/23/everyone-should-watch-alone-together/

It happens, but the fandom probably just talks about those episodes way more than the silly fun ones, of which there are a lot. Each episode is only 12 minutes long, so there frankly isn't time for a lot of deep delving in to the ramifications of mental illness. I mean, it does get serious, but no where as often as the fandom would have you believe tbh.

Oh thats not so bad. Didn't realise they were so short.

Yeah, they are the Adventure Time model of half length episodes and filling a half hour tv spot with two episodes. I personally like it cause it makes it a very easy to watch show, though some people have said it feels almost too light to them because of that.

Yeah that definitely sounds like a fandom addition. They get into some characters' past and how it affects them emotionally but that's really not the same thing.

I finish almost all episodes happy. It's a good show and while it has an overall plot (and an interesting one IMO), it ends most episodes on a positive note.
