I don't think OP is saying either is right

Their argument seems to be that if they're going to show a wrong thing with genders set one way, showing the same thing with genders reversed shouldn't be treated differently, equally right or equally wrong

And showing depictions of such in fiction isn't the same as real life

It's also probably worth noting that these two aren't in a relationship or having sex or even flirting or anything like that. Sometimes they have scenes that read teacher/student, sometimes they have scenes that are mother/son, sometimes they have scenes where they kinda seems like they are going for some weird sexual chemistry.
