Crapping on slash fans for things all shippers do just seems like a way to target a group that's predominantly female

Slash fans shit on rival female characters, you say?! Wow, that's never happened before!

Except that time Harmonians did it to Ginny. Or Zutarians did it to Mai. Or Tifa fans did it to Aerith (and vice versa). Or Ichabbie fans and Katrina.

Like, go ahead and defend your favorite female characters. But when you start ranting about "slash fans" as though they're the only ones that do or as though they do it more often, I think you're full of shit.

Oh, I'll definitely agree with this. Trashing the love interest that's standing in the way of your OTP is something lots of fans are guilty of, regardless of whether their OTP is straight or gay.

I think it's obnoxious either way, too. Obviously it's cool to have preferences, to like the non-canon pairing better than the canon one-I've got TONS of pairings like that myself.

But if I dislike a character, I'm not going to hate them over the simple fact they're dating a character I want to see with someone else. I kind of need a bit bigger reason than that, personally.

Yup. It's always the slash fans that get singled out with this when nope, het fans do it too and are just as misogynistic about it.
