I'm DFAB trans and I agree with you, especially when it comes to "trans" tumblr users who are very young or say they don't want surgery/hormones. obviously there are cost issues and other things that go into actually getting treatment but if all you have to show for your trans identity is a little blib in your sidebar– no therapist appointments, no hormones, no surgeries planned, I don't really believe you tbh. 90% of them will grow out of it or latch onto whatever other identity springs up as "cool" later. I'm looking forward to the day that genderqueer and "trans" aren't fun identities for bored teenagers to play in.
