It's not so much that authors should abandon their own creations, it's just that a certain level of involvement after the fact starts to feel a little weird. Maybe as if they're obsessed with their own work? I mean... JKR's not "Laurell K. Hamilton forgetting her characters aren't real and accidentally buying Christmas presents for them" crazy, but anything that reminds people of wackjob authors can be off putting.

Pretty sure this is just you.

Sometimes they ~enjoy~ it and maybe they don't want to leave something they enjoyed.

I mean it's not as if she hasn't done other things. I don't think there's anything weird or obsessive about it.

Besides a big point people keep forgetting is that fans are asking questions. People are still curious and she's still interested in answering her.

*answering them.

Uh, the fact that OP made a secret about it strongly suggests it's not just one person, but thanks for playing... I guess.

Still it's fucking ridiculous that answering fan questions and being involved in a popular franchise after the initial series ended, while there are still people interested in the world and characters, is even reminiscent of being a "whackjob"

There are people who may think that. They're just judgey.

Okay--it's two people then ;) Thanks for playing...I guess.

Yup, just two entitled fans in the whole of HP, you nailed it. ;)

I feel like you'd have to squint pretty hard to think she's obsessed. I really don't get where that comes from at all.
