Wow. That poor mother.

Is it legal to leave shotguns in closets? That seems bizarre to me. Unless you're in constant danger of bears getting into your house and trying to eat you.
There's not even a law about locking guns up if there are minors living in the house?

Everyone who owns a gun here also has to have somewhere to store it that locks.

Yeah, you can pretty much just leave your gun lying around from what I understand. My brother just has his propped against the wall in bedroom and he used to carry it in his truck. (He doesn't have kids.) I mean, in a lot of states you can just carry it around anywhere, so.

So weird. Then again, I guess that's just what everyone is used to. Still not very comforting to know kids have access to loaded guns.

Meanwhile in Australia, snake season has started, and everyone is trying to one-up everyone else on facebook with how many they've seen. I bumped my wheelchair over a flat brown snake on the road a couple of days ago. Poor thing.
