I am allergic to any kind of referring to a character by hair. "The fair haired one", "the long haired dude", "the shaved brute", "the girl with long ebony black hair with purple streak and red tips that reached her mid back"... WAAAAH! JUST WRITE THEIR GODDAMN NAME!

Yeah, another thing that gets overdone. I think a lot of phrases can be fine in moderation, but learning how to not over-do it is the issue.

Yeah I mean this is acceptable if the character doesn't know their names (e.g. recounting a crime they witnessed) but when the fic is from Harry Potter's perspective and he refers to Draco as "the fair-haired man", gtfo.
