I'm not a feminist. I'll lie about it, because I want equality and because I'm scared of the repercussions, but in my head I can't see myself as a part of the movement as it exists today.

That's me too. I have a friend who's very outspoken for it and friends that are very critical of it. I just don't really talk about my opinions on it on blogs and stuff , and avoid conversations with it.

I can understand that, depending on the reason (I mean I don't need one from you, but I do get how people shy away)

If feminism was just about the big stuff (women's rights to physical autonomy, physical safety, wage equality, affordable/accessible child care, etc.) do you think you would consider yourself a feminist?

I'm not going to, like, come for you if you say no. I mean, I do consider myself a feminist, and a pretty devoted one, even though I think there's a lot that's messy and counterproductive about feminism right now. But I've never felt the need to get all over another woman's case if she doesn't identify as a feminist, either.

If it makes you feel better, sometimes screaming sounds fake, and I think it initiates a horrible auto-response because we forget that it's real. Does that makes sense?

Probably not quite the same thing, but for example, I had a friend who was crying and went "boo-hoo!" I had to fight to keep a straight face and felt horrible about it.

When I was young and didn't understand what I was doing, I talked a gay friend into coming out to another friend. Except I think I may have pressured him a bit. :(

My reasoning was she was the only one in our group who didn't know, and he was hesitant because she was religious (she was, but not that kind of religious), but... I feel a bit bad about that, now that I'm older and wiser. That totally was NOT my place. We're still friends so apparently he doesn't hold it against me, but I'll always feel a bit bad about it.

I keep watching things I've already seen instead of searching for something new and unique.

I cried to get out of a parking ticket.

I flirted with the guy who locks up the paid parking at night. They're supposed to lock you in and charge you an overnight fee. Totally worked.

in 7th grade, while the class was watching the parade of heroes (for the 1st gulf war), i snuck away into the boy's bathroom and peed out of a window. i know it must have hit somebody. i have no idea how i didn't get caught.

I got through a class last year by coping all the homework. It was biology and I just didn't care and hated the teacher. But I still got an A in the class!

i have to vent about these fanfic comments i am getting which are very flattering but seem to be the result of limited language proficiency in both comprehension and comment construction, i am running out of ways to respond

I'm staying with someone for the kids. And the financial security.
