If it makes you feel better, sometimes screaming sounds fake, and I think it initiates a horrible auto-response because we forget that it's real. Does that makes sense?

Probably not quite the same thing, but for example, I had a friend who was crying and went "boo-hoo!" I had to fight to keep a straight face and felt horrible about it.
