The funny thing is, I'm not one of the people who thinks yadda yadda toxic masculinity, but I am actually angry at my dad.

I do want to shout out my good male friend who I love very much and who I have known for a really long time going back to high school, and who used to be angry and a huge dick, and who has legitimately become so much better of a person and so much kinder and I'm really proud of him. And he's a great, smart, funny, kind dude.

my dad is a very flawed man, but I think we've grown to appreciate each other more as we grew older.

we've grown less close as i've gotten older. i used to make a lot more excuses for him, but he really is a passive aggressive self-centered dickhead. it is what it is.

i'm glad that you and your father have reached more of a modus vivendi, though. that is good.
