There's a channel we get called MeTV and my dad loves it.

Right now we've been watching Gilligan's Island, Emergency, The Andy Griffth Show and a bunch more that I can't remember right now.

Oh man, I re-watched Emergency a few years ago. It's dated, yes - kind of the baby version of today's procedurals - but it was so much better than I expected. Love Roy and Johnny, they're such a great mix of personality and the banter was hilarious at times!

Emgergency comes on while we're eating dinner and my brother's a firefighter, so it makes for great dinner conversation when he'll explain certain techniques and how they're either not used at all or what they ended up evolving in to.

Oh it's definitely dated (THE HAIR!) but it's a good show and one that doesn't get enough recognition.

I'm not in medical or any kind of rescue field (unless you're having an IT emergency), but I'm so used to today's TV shows that when we were watching Emergency, I'd call out "clear!" whenever they were using the defibrillator. Since none of the characters were saying it, I thought someone ought to.

Oh, the hair! The clothes! The bizarrely intrusive music in later seasons. And actors who don't match the character's age. "The patient is 17." Wrong, he's got to be 35. "This 35 year-old-man" is actually being played by a 55-year-old actor.

So much fun!

Haha, that's great yelling "clear" at the TV.

You can definitely see how it led to the procedural shows we have today and it's great to see the development of television.

It's also great when Dad will say something about having some outfit and Mom and I will just laugh at him. Or the short shorts on the guys (even though it's not that short, it's a big style change from what I'm used to)

MeTV is a great channel. I like that their commercial breaks are short, and that they actually show the credits of an episode instead of have some ad taking up half the screen. And they have a good variety of shows, too.

Sometimes I like to watch some of the old "Alfred Hitchcock" and "Thriller" episodes on there. I love those kinds of creepy anthology series.

The other channel we get that's good is Decades. I think they were airing old celebrity bowling tournaments and they actually showed the old commercials from the 70s.

It's a good mix of shows, except when you watch the the same time every day (pretty much just from 5-9 PM) so I end up seeing the same few shows over and over again.

I think MASH was on the other day and I remember watching that all the time as a kid.

I love MeTV. There's a similar one that I used to get before I had cable called Antenna TV. I don't remember which one shows Dragnet, but I am always surprised at how willing I am to watch Dragnet. Oh, that ridiculously serious show!
