It just feels objectifying and exploitative in a way that doesn't with other characters -- bit like the Susan vs. Angua discussion above.

Besides, there's the whole bikini thing. To me that feels like the extent of her willingness to be sexy, inasmuch we can discuss the willingness of a fictional character. And even that was mostly just a reward for mostly-male players who finished the game quickly.

Well, sure, but there's always good and bad examples of porn. I'd certainly roll my eyes at any kind of porn where Samus was shoehorned into a porn starlet scenario, but I think I'd feel differently if she was depicted in a more powerful role.

In as much as I think having a positive depiction of sexuality for a female character is totally viable unless they're stated to be asexual, yeah.
