I like her, but prefer the show as an ensemble. But seriously, anything to get the focus off Coulson. He was a great supporting character but he absolutely couldn't carry a show. I don't know if it's the actor or the writing or some kind of Rule of Cool applying only to his brief appearances, but he's absolutely grating.

I'd prefer Coulson over Skye, but I do agree he's lost much of his charm. In the movies he was cool and competent and had a sharp sense of humor. On the show he's...mushy. And they can explain it away as much as they want with him coming back from the dead and obviously we never saw him that much to begin with, but it's not enough. I was/am? a Coulson fan but it's hard now, because what's so special about him? He was one of Fury's most trusted agents, in charge of a whole bunch of sensitive/dangerous programs. Fury brought him back from the dead and made him director. But why? With all the other characters it's obvious what their talents are, but Coulson is just...a good guy? I get that they want to maintain that everyman vibe, but this is just ridiculous.
