Except it's Daisy Johnson (Quake from the comics) origin story... has been from the beginning. All these "WAH WHEDON" excuses are hilarious. The story is an adaptation out of the comics (With Coulson filling Fury's role but that's a whole other kettle of fish).

But god forbid we give more than a five minute flash back to a female superhero.

It ain't what she is, but the way they get her there. It could be so much better executed within the show, and the show structure itself, but they've gone the generic Whedon-girl route instead. Boooooooring.
