oh like i'm supposed to believe you made people become fans of this ancient, tired-ass show. did you turn people on to NCIS while you were at it?

I didn't get into SPN until season 7. It isn't that hard to get people into an old show (I'm watching X-Files as I type).

I don't disagree but X-Files KS a totally different thing - people have had time to go back and reevaluate and rediscover. Something that's still actually on the air, there's a lot more fatigue.

I've never watched Supernatural because of a lack of initiative. I'd probably like it if I had a friend like OP around to say, "OMG MAKE DRINKS AND WATCH IT WITH ME PLZ"

Ditto. Like, I got my roommate into True Blood this last summer basically by going, "Okay I am having a shitty day, let's make White Russian and watch some trashy vampire teevee," one night.

She also started watching House this year on my suggestion.

Yes, the original concept is old and tired as balls, but its overly dedicated fans and long run has brought it into another dimension. The entity Supernatural/J2/CWR/etc. is perfectly alive and kicking.

I didn't get into it until season five (or so) myself, but I love it and its endless supply of fanworks. Live long and prosper!

The fuck you on about. Not everyone watches a show while it's airing. LOST and Game of Thrones are wildly popular while airing and I never watched them until they were done airing or several season in.

My friends recommend me stuff all the time and give me their copies to watch. Recently a friend gave me Firefly to watch and that has been history for years.

Assuming people can't get into a show because it's peaked or old is pretty stupid.

Hey, Sastiel is an awesome, under explored ship!

Given that Cas had more meaningful interaction with Sam this last season, and Cas and Dean spent so much of their screen time acting like codependent exs, I'm not sure I blame you.

(Did they make up in the last three episodes? I'm that much behind.)

Honestly, I don't really care about any Sam ships because Jared is such an awful actor.

Nothing wrong with liking who you like or changing your opinion just as there is nothing wrong with them liking Dean better or shipping Dean/Castiel. I personally don't get Sam/Cas at all (partially because of the lack of meaningful reactions partially because I interpret them both as pretty dominant in the bedroom). But everyone should be able to ship what they want.

I just want to know what the deal with the extra "is" is.

I just wish Castiel would go back where he came from (or in the opposite direction for all I care) and never be seen again. And take all the ~stiel with him.

Hey! I like Castiel. I don't think the writers know what to do with him half the time, but he does the best he can with what he's given.

Yup, agreed! Cas suffers from what I think of as 'Jean Grey syndrome'. The character is too overpowered for the show, and the writers are constantly having to include some sort of de-powering mechanism so that he doesn't derail the plots.

That, and I find angel politics intrinsically boring.
