I'm looking for long stories that focus on fleshing out minor characters. Any fandom will do, if the fic is good enough I'll read it!

And A Doctor http://archiveofourown.org/works/497900/chapters/872795 It was only when people actually saw John working as a physician that they began to understand: that it wasn’t just about bullets and IEDs and trauma care under fire. That “doctor” actually covered a pretty wide field. And that John was bloody good at covering ground. 5 times Dr. Watson treated others and 1 time he treated himself.

That is the only one I have that is clearly tagged Character Study. I have some long Gen fics, but they are more about dynamics between characters.

Any really good fic for this pairing ... that's not on AO3? I've read all those (and very few were really good) :p

Bonus points if it's not fluffy at all, but is still pro-ship (they don't break up for good, nobody dies, etc)

it's always incredibly easy to find super long fics full of emotion & ust with m/m pairings, but I have trouble finding that with femslash. does anyone have any recs for that (for pretty much any pairing except incest)?

This is mostly some scattered shit I have bookmarked - some of it might not fit perfectly - but in my defense I'm on my phone and can't really go hard with searching. Also sorry if you've already read any of them. Anyway.

Cas/Dean with Cas in Claire's 12 year old vessel. I kept reading it to see if the story would bring up the inherent wrongness of the situation, but it never did. Even Sam's reaction to walking in on them (eww, eww!) was "Aww, you guys, I knew you were in love."

I'm angry with myself for reading it.
