I do that too. It's worse in Classic Fallout because it's not organized by type. The only thing preventing it from being completely unmanageable is that there are fewer items to pick up overall (aside from weapons and ammo, which take up the bulk of the weight, it's mostly one-time use stuff, bit like an adventure game.)

To make matters even worse, there is no take-all button in Fallout 1 and you can only take 999 of a thing at a time, which is aggravating when you're dealing with large sums of cash.

I know this was not your intention, but this has all but convinced me to never play classic Fallout. (Not that I was likely to in the first place tbh, but...that sounds like torture.)

Yeah the only thing that makes it tolerable is there's a LOT less items to loot and a lot fewer enemies to kill (and they don't respawn.)

Game is basically Ultima with guns. Unless that sounds fun to you, you're better off watching an LP.

FO2 fixes some of FO1's UI problems, as well as greatly expands what you can do with NPCs.
