I also noticed a similar trend in a lot of my fandoms. The slash ships get shit, but the same traits in het ships are excused.

I know there are a lot of a certain type of fangirls who always complain about people shipping crack slash ships and yet they ship one girl with every male characters even when they have never actually met.

I think it might have something to do with het ships being a minority in certain fandoms so they feel they are entitled to shit on the popular stuff while they are exempt.
