I have never seen this before but this bothers me. Not as an Avengers fan, but as a GOTG fan. Why would you want to reduce them to that. They are in the same universe and will eventually interact with them at some point.

Yeah, I'm with you. I didn't particularly like The Avengers, but loved Guardians of the Galaxy, so yeah ... those characters deserve better.

Though I do enjoy the Bruce as Groot part of it.

Same. Sure the MCU fandom was sort of into it, but once the MSF part found out there weren't two young pretty white guys to slash, it pretty much dropped off the fandom's radar. (Come to think of it, I don't even think Ant-Man made even so much as a tiny blip for about that same reason, too)

Or people just can't wrap their brains around sci-fi, aliens, etc. That's my belief, anyways.
