She could have said "I wish my boyfriend understood what it was like to be a woman" or "I wish my boyfriend temporarily had to see what it was like to be a woman." Instead, she said, "I wish my boyfriend was a woman," which implies that she would continue dating her boyfriend if he was a woman.

Are you a guy? Because generally, most women don't feel the need to make absolutely certain nobody thinks they might like women. Many straight women can very comfortably say "I wish my boyfriend was a woman" without feeling like they have to specify that their "not gay or anything!"
