and I freaking loved it. I also came to realize that I really, really like Bill Cipher as a villain - I'm not normally much into villains of that type, but damn is he entertaining. Normally I don't love possession-types, either, but Bill does it with style, haha.

Also I loved the latest episode. Why don't I know anybody who watches GF?

Really really late - but dude, I love that show. I am actually obsessed with that show. I just wanna talk about it all the time because I can't BELIEVE how good it is

Bill's awesome. Hilarious at the same time as he is terrifying. I spent pretty much this whole season going "I know he's evil BUT I JUST WANT HIM TO SHOW UP AGAIN"

Like, remember the one where he possessed Dipper? HOLY SHIT.

I agree so hard about Bill. I think they managed to strike a really great balance with him - he's funny, he's whimsical, he's just a little silly, yet at the same time terrifying. I also always wait for him to show up, which for me really is a sign of the best villains.
And I was kind of impressed at how far they went with the series, especially in the latest episode! I'm curious as to how they'll solve it. (I also like how when it hits hard, it... really hits. All those parallels they set up between the Stans and Mabel and Dipper, the brainy vs. "stupid" twin, so painful).

Since we're on Bill, I'm curious - I've seen a bunch of human!Bill art, but somehow none of it manages to click for me. They don't really capture him accurately (too "pretty", maybe?). What do you think of human!Bill?

It's truuue. And partially because he's usually confined to a dream-scape, everything just gets so weird and cool when he shows up. Like that time he says "hats off to you!" And tips his hat to Dipper, and when he does the whole screen tilts. Or the deer teeth thing. JUST SO WEIRD AND COOL

Oh god, yeah. When this show gets emotional it hits you with a devastating soul punch. I remember thinking it couldn't get sadder than the sad McGucket episode (and it WAS sad too!!) BUT THEN THEY GAVE ME ALL THESE STAN PINES FEELINGS. And THEN they decided to set up a parallel with sweet beloved Mabel and god it hurts but it's SO WELL DONE ugh what do I do

Oh but about the weirdpocalypse coming! Not gonna lie, the fact that Bill is now in our world and taking his own physical form for the first time....means he can be like, punched and such. That could be a weakness. =)

I too think people draw him too pretty amd anime-ish for it to connect with me. I don't have a particular look in my head for what he would look like as a human, but none that I've seen have felt like him to me either.

It's true. They captured the bizarreness and dream-elements really well, in very effective ways, without going too ~wacky~ or over the top. He's a great dream-demon.
Oh, yeah, him in physical form could be interesting! I wonder if he'll take a non-triangle form, though I'd be surprised if he did, since triangles are such a strong motif in the show.

Oh god, Mabel. See, she hit me really hard because in a way, I'm a Dipper more than I am a Mabel. I got frustrated by her hijinks sometimes, and I'm more cerebral. But you realize that she really is sweet and loyal, and it's so sad (and powerful) how the casual cruelty can end up taking things so far. I desperately want Mabel and Dipper not to end up like the Stans! I can honestly see this being the kind of show to get kids to rethink their relationship with their siblings. I hope it has positive effects. (Stan working so hard to bring Ford back was so beautiful, too).

One of the side characters I loved the most was actually Mermando. I thought his first episode was absolutely hilarious.

Oh man, have you seen any of the ads for the next episode yet? Bill's rubik's-cube pyramid shape looks awesoooooooooome!

AND YEAH, SERIOUSLY. I WANTED THE YOUNGER PINES TWINS TO INFLUENCE THE STANS TO RECONCILE, NOT THE OTHER WAY AROUND!!!

Ahaha Mermando was cuuuute. Definitely the best/nicest/most appropriate for Mabel of all the guys she's crushed on (though I have a BIG weakness for the Several Timez guys and their episode. XD)

I did! I'm so excited for it. It looks so amazing, I can't wait. I also love this concept of "the world ending in weirdness", rather than straight-out drama that other world-ends go for. It's great.

Haha yeah, I kind of wish she'd go steady with him, but doesn't look like we'll get that. He was a decent sort, though. It makes sense that they're not really going with a whole ~romantic~ plotline, and I think the show is better for it. They're kids, you know? No need to shove Twu Wuv or anything.
Oh mannnnnnnn I loved the Several Timez episode. It was absolutely hilarious and so spot-on with boy bands. In general I like that the show lets Mabel have her crushes, and doesn't treat her as dumb or anything for them.

I do love that the show really emphasizes that what /really/ fucks things up is when there's lack of trust and honesty, not just somebody being less brainy. United we stand and all that.
