I don't ship Starlingale, but I think it sounds cute. Also, I was just browsing the #Until Dawn tag and saw "Crash" for Cris/Ashley :D

Kock and Mammett are probably the worst ship names I've ever heard (although I may be biased, since the latter ship makes me cringe into a void).

Best: GSR (Grissom/Sara Romance plus a CSI term).
Worst: All the ones for Katniss and Peeta.

lmao, I was in the CSI fandom for years and I can't believe that I never made the connection between the ship name GSR and "gunshot residue" before reading your comment. That's just sad.

But yeah, Katniss and Peeta really do have the most unfortunate ship names. They at least get the funniest ones though (I can't decide if I like Katpee or Peeniss better)

"Grindeldore" is not bad per se but IMO Albus Dumbledore and Gellert Grindelwald's pairing name should have been Albert, so it could have doubled as their mpreg lovechild's name.

Ben/Locke from Lost = Bocke. Bocke! Like a chicken! It was already set when I got there, so it's not my fault, lol. I've always liked how Hannigram sounded, though. Even if it reminds me of people calling Hannibal "Hanni," which is the most awful cutesiness ever.

Absolute favorites, regardless of my opinion on the pairings in question: Spuffy
Hannigram (and Alannagram, though the length of that one makes it clunky)
Phinabella (and 'Galabella' from an entirely different fandom)

Eeek! Sculder. Kill it with fire! Sculder was never a thing in the XF fandom of old. Is it becoming a thing amongst the new X-Philes these days?

Spuffy was my first major ship, so that one I'm quit fond of. And Hannigram is hilarious.

From BTVS, I've always had a fondness for Spuffy. On the flipside, I dislike the sound of Spander - makes me think of spandex or elastic or suchlike. And Spangel sounded like you were bedazzling something.

I was just coming to nominate Pepperony! I love that one. And they're still my very favourite Tony-related ship because I love her and think she's good for him. (If probably too good for him!)

I've never watched the show, but apparently Gossip Girl has Chuck and Blair...called Chair. That always cracked me up.

'Rapple' is probably the worst one...it's just kind of clunky.

Best:
- Pepperony (pizza!)
- Fuffy (one letter away from FLUFFY!)
- Scones (Scotty + Bones = delicious breakfast food)
- Megascream (perfect summary of their relationship)
- Logurt (LOW-FAT YOGURT)
- McSpork (BEST SHIP NAME EVER)

Worst:
- Scogue (sounds like a disease)
- Spuhura (sounds like a type of fungus)
- Cherik (idk why, it just bugs me for some reason)
- most Steven Universe portmanteaus (the only one I've heard that I like is Pearlnet, which makes me think of a net full of pearls)

I find 00Q to be pretty neat. It's nice that they're both codenames so it doesn't look awkward.

Tolkien fandom has the best. The only ones, mostly, I actually like. Angbang, Silverfisting, Glorfied Erection, Gangbang, Bagginshield, Russingon.

Best: Hannigram (I just like the sound of it, though I use Hannibal x Will on my personal blog. Have to admit though, 'Murder Husbands' didn't grow on me till season three, but now I like it), McShep (NGL, my fondness for the pairing has something to do with it, but I still think it sounds like a McDonald's ice cream and that amuses me), Spork (Kirk/Spock, though no one seems to actually use this), Pepperony (Adorable, though now I'm hungry), Adoribull (Dorian/Iron Bull from DAI; I prefer them both with the Inquisitor, but that ship name is amazing), Hartwin (it just looks classy), Bagginshield (I find it cute).

Worst: Stucky (Ugh, I love the ship but no way am I ever using that name; it makes me think of 'sticky' and then I feel unclean), Cherik (Again, love the ship, can't stand the portmanteau), Siren (Kieren/Simon from ITF; I don't really hate it, I even sort of like it, but I feel bad for anyone who goes looking for Mythological Sirens and comes across ship stuff, lol. Though the fanbase is small so I suppose that's unlikely), Shoot (Root/Shaw from POI; it IS very appropriate so I do like that, but it's so short and looks absolutely nothing like a nickname for a pairing. And these two spend so much of their time shooting people that if you weren't careful about your wording the usage of 'shoot' could be very confusing.)

I kind of liked "Lumi" for the Days of Our Lives' pairing, Lucas and Sami. Reminds me of "illuminate" or something. Hell, their screentime was a light in the dark of the occasional shitty storyline.

I'm just not a fan of smushed together names, though. It always gives me the worst images in a Frankenstein monster way.

Best: While I don't ship it I always Liked Sassy for Sam/Cas, and I like Pepperony and don't mind Clintasha from the MCU. Also McFassy or Fassavoy are pretty decent too.

Worst: I love the ship but I really dislike Stucky as a portmanteau, ugh, why. It's such an awful name-smush and I never, ever use it. Also Cherik, I will use that as a tag though but I don't like it.

I disliked Snack and Snucius back in my HP days when the group I hung around debated Snape pairing names, but I did like Snupin while I remained neutral to Snarry.

I found CloTiRis amusing.

I once gave my current OTP the name KíliMir.

I'm a bit "Meh" about Cullrian, which is also the name of a dA comm for Cullen/Dorian.

Let's start with the classics
Acceptable, Best: spones ..it's cuddly (and the opposite of how both the characters are)

Worst:
- spirk, makes me think about the sound of a spit of sperm when it suddenly gets out (too graphic? Sorry)
- spuhura, but why?
Why all of them need to start with spock letters, btw?
- Merder is terrible too, in some language it is means sh*t :/

All the trek ones that start with 'mc': 'are you ready for a cheeseburger?'

I hate portmanteaus. Actually.
