I wish we could have stayed with the good old slash, especially indicating the positions, i.e. top/bottom NOT bottom/top. There are pairings I just can't even think about the other way around and portmanteau kinda always leaves that open.

But the indicated positions varied from fandom to fandom even back then, so it was far from failsafe.

that was because the people using bottom/top were stupid. Reading direction in english is left->right and top->bottom. why the hell would anyone wanna screw that up??

I wish portmanteaus followed the top/bottom thing. Sterek would be my happy place if they did, but as it is, I'm just sad and disappointed with the fic all the time. :/
