We have no way of knowing how this conversation went down so I don't know if it's as bad as you make it out to be, but I don't necessarily see anything wrong with saying, "I love -insert thing here-, but not so much -insert other thing here-." As long as you didn't go on and on about how that song or album was the worst thing in the world and anyone who likes it must have the shittiest taste, it probably wasn't as insulting as you think.

But anyway, if you did come on too strong or sound like you were questioning their knowledge that's unfortunate, but people make mistakes. Apologizing to the person this happened to would be a good step (if you even see this person on a regular basis); maybe they would even be open to a conversation? If not, well, at least you'll stop cringing so much when you think back on it.
