Looking at the tumblr tag makes it seem like fic kin is just shorthand for fiction kin, which is basically otherkin but instead of being a wolf you're a fictional character. Wasn't there a different name for that? something similar to soul bonding?

Well anyway, if anything this will make for some interesting internet interactions. I say let the circus burn and grab some popcorn, OP.

Very similar to soulbonding, though I had the impression from back in the day that some soulbonders actually acknowledged that the characters they shared headspace with were fictional. Also, they were not always claiming they were that character, they were more like multiple personalities where one of their headmates happened to be out of a fictional work, or even a historical figure.

However not all soulbonders were that sensible about it, so I just look at this "fickin" thing and think it looks just like some of the crazier parts of soulbonding.

(I was once friends with a soulbonder who, for someone who subscribed to something considered crazy, was pretty damn sensible about it.)
