My friend and I both wrote fanfic for writing class and got As. Oop. (Though I don't agree with profiting from it. Not that I don't think writers should get paid, but it's a legal grey area when using others' intellectual property and I'd rather not get sued. I don't really agree with fanartists getting paid for producing fanwork but I understand why they charge.)
