Seriously, I watched this with people who, at the least, were about five years older than me and we had a great time enjoying it straight and mocking it ruthlessly. I even have some of the dolls.

Evie's my favorite.

I'd watch it even if my kids hadn't made me a hundred times already. I love the Teen Beach movies, too. Disney Channel has had a good run lately. Besides, Kristen Chenoweth chews the scenery in ways I didn't know were possible. And Kathy Najimi's make up is just a wonder to stare at.

My 22-yr-old flatmate loves this movie too. It's not exactly high art, but it's fun and some of the costumes are really great. If you enjoy it, then just embrace that. There's noting wrong with liking something a bit goofy or young.

It was good. Ended up buying it, babysitting my niece who fell in love with it, giving her the DVD, and then buying another copy for myself. Have you read the prequel book?
