I can relate, anon! I've seen some fics around, mostly cute and bittersweet, but they were all in Russian, and one (I think) was in French. Don't remember reading anything in English, though.

I never liked those books as a child (which could have something to do with the fact that the first book I read was the comet one and it creeped the hell out of me), but rediscovering them as an adult, it's hard not to see all the undertones. (The handbag-as-bedroom-scene in Finn Family Moomintroll can be a bit weird when you know whom Tofslan and Vifslan were supposed to represent.)

So I resort to Pixiv and doujinshis. Sorry I can't help you with fanfics, but thanks for making this secret, it made my day. It's nice to see something with my rare OTP. (:
