Hey, different kids are scared of different things. I couldn't even bear to look at a picture of E.T. for an embarrassingly long time.

You would not be the only person I have known who was scared of E.T. as a kid, but like I said, those kids were usually 5 or younger.

Maybe some kids have that fear response persist for longer though, I have no idea.

Straight up. I loved Dark Crystal, Labyrinth, Return to Oz, all the Don Bluth movies - "creepy" kid stuff - but the heartwarming tale of a boy and his alien? Literally nightmare-inducing. Damned bug-eyed screeching space scrotum, with his stretchy neck and weird waddle, and his organs all visible and shit. I still get the heebies.
