I may not be the best person to ask because this is not my field, but I would go with whichever one you think more closely resembles the kind of output you would be expected to produce for this job.

When I applied for my current job, I submitted a fully edited and formatted report, not just because it was polished and slick, but because I wanted to show that I could generate the kind of end-product needed in my line of work (I'd also written 90% of it and made all the graphics, so I felt it was mostly me even if other people had had their hands on it). I was later asked to submit a piece of unedited writing to show I could still write well, and I did, but I don't think my second example alone would have been a good initial demonstration of why I should get the job.
