I definitely get your complaint, even though I like 3D myself (though I wish modern animated films weren't almost exclusively that). The Kung Fu Panda movies sorta have their own visual style at least. (Disclaimer: I don't particularly care about KFP, but I'm an animation nerd, and that stood out to me.)
