yeah, SU fandom is a whole heap of shit, but I'm glad that I can find good people who ship 'em. Also, Rupphire is fluff incarnate.

I think you have to be pretty darn heartless not to find them adorable. They are SO adorable.

nah you just get the 'ruby's actually a boy' crowd

(Anonymous) 2015-10-28 11:27 pm (UTC)(link)
Or the "Oh no, honey, they're not ~lesbians~, they can't be, because they're not really ~female~ - Phew, saved by the "sexless" canon from the icky lesbians" crowd.

That's so dumb, though. They may be biologically sexless, but they present as female, are consistently referred to with female pronouns, and are clearly meant to be perceived as female by the audience.

Honestly, I was already fed up with this wank after years in the Transformers fandom. The fact that it's being repeated by a completely different fandom makes me want to scream and tear out my hair.

Some countries dubbed Ruby with a male voice, didn't they?

France kept Ruby as female, but changed Garnet's song from "I'm made of love" into "I am a friendship"...

I stay well out of the fandom but I mostly just see the same 'Awww cute gay space rocks' sentiment as well, which I also agree with, because they're god damn adorable.

I love it too, Ruby and Sapphire are super cute.
