What rare pair do you love to pieces? Are there any fics? Have you written any?

Let's see if we can unite some shippers and introduce each other to some fics and art!

I'll start: my rare pair is Dean Martin/Frank Sinatra, and I have written almost every fic for them on AO3. I can't find fics for them or Old Hollywood anywhere!

Tony Stark/Martin Crieff.

Several Steve Rogers pairings (Thor, Clint Barton, Loki, Clark Kent >.>)

John Watson/Lestrade and John Watson/Moriarty.

There are fics but I am not a writer so none from me!

Funny story, when I was about 13 and just starting watching Sherlock, I thought that the common ship was Holmes/Lestrade. I really do. I thought that was the big ship, not Holmes/Watson. I was so surprised.

It may have came from House, where House/Cuddy was a big thing and Cuddy was that show's Lestrade. But I think it even came before.

speaking of House, my rare pair from that show is House/Maddie (aka dwarf mom)

Tony Stark/Natasha Romanoff friendship.

I know it's not a "ship" per se but I really enjoy fics where they're friends. I read one and I was hooked. I wish there was more of it in the movies, but I think they'd just write it wrong.

Most of my ships are rare. I actually get a bit weirded out by the abundance of fanworks if I start shipping something more mainstream because I'm not used to it.

Vetinari/Drumknott - I say this a lot and they've been my OTP for a few years now. I have a (hopefully complete) list of V/D fanfiction on my journal. In terms of number of published fanfiction, I think I've written the most for it, but it's really not that much haha.

Amir/Sanjay - I'm not that serious about this ship and I haven't written anything for it, but there is just no fic at all, which is really disappointing :(

Lightning McQueen/Francesco Bernoulli - I know this movie is super old and this franchise is super lame, but my baby brother loves the movies to pieces and I'm really interested in friendly rivalry pairings. There is one fic but it's very badly written. I haven't written anything for them that I've published *cough*

Shirasu is a cell block boss in a prison that Ageha and Sarasa (the manga heroine, disguised as her brother) are in. Ageha sleeps with Shirasu to ensure Sarasa's protection and gain information; afterward, Shirasu seems rather taken with Ageha (he even looks him up years later). It's absolutely doomed from the start, which I suppose is part of the appeal to me.

Asked for this (as well as the other two I mention below) every year I did Yuletide; never got any (but then it truly is a miniscule fandom). Wrote one fic featuring it, and one fic including it; have never come across any others.

Shion and Dohko from Saint Seiya. I've written a few fics; happily there are doujinshi (and a fair number of fics in French, Spanish or Portuguese to run through google translate).

Mu>Shiryu is much much rarer (requited or not). In almost 14 years of being a StS fan I've seen maybe 2 Mu/Shiryu in English, perhaps 5 overall, and only 2.1 doujinshi.

I love rare pairs. I think I always gravitate towards the rarest of pairs.

Barahir/Finrod is a big one for me. Finrod is an awesome character; it's hard not to love him. What I love most though is that Finrod is this amazing elf who's probably a kickass fighter but Barahir's the one who comes to the rescue. You have a man rescuing an elf. And I love that Finrod recognizes it.

I also love Barahir's tenacious fight to hold onto his realm to the last man. I headcanon that he's a big family man. After his brother's death, he becomes the leader of his people but he really shouldn't, as his brother has two sons who should've gotten the leadership position. So, Barahir is probably a really charismatic and strong leader and his people recognize he should lead because he's the most qualified. And it looks like there's no animosity between him and his nephews, as they are part of his Outlaw band. I just think Barahir was on good terms with his brother and was very protective of his family.

So, Finrod and Barahir are awesome in their own rights but even better as a couple.

Janerezi! I figured there would be more fanfic for them because they'd have really good chemistry, with their similar personality traits but different expressions of them playing off of each other, and have similar interests and hobbies. WHERE IS ALL MY JANE-AND-TEREZI-OPEN-A-DETECTIVE-AGENCY FANFIC?

WHERE? I WANT TO READ IT TOO.

Most of my fave pairs are rare. I actually made a secret a while ago about probably my rarest pair- Envy/Wrath.

Also all my Teen Titans OTPS- Beastboy/Starfire, Raven/Cyborg, and Robin/Terra.

I'm in the process of writing fanfic. It'll be a while though because I don't post incomplete stories.

in Father Brown I've a ship in season 1.

Jade/Nephry and Luke/Anise from Tales of the Abyss are the major ones. I've written some Jade/Nephry! But I haven't posted it anywhere. In fact, I have one in mind that I want to write, and it's this whole big epic thing, but I'm kind of getting cold feet about it.

Ovan/Atoli from .hack//G.U. as well. Shinjiro/Fuuka from Persona 3. Tifa/Barret and Aeris/Yuffie from Final Fantasy VII. Irvine/Zell from Final Fantasy VIII.

I HAVE A LOT OF RARE PAIRS.

Texas and Julie from Motorcity! I've posted a couple of fics for them on AO3.

Doctor Who:
Martha Jones/the Master
(I'm in the process of writing fic and I've already read some gems--ok ALL the gems because the number of fic on the pair is so damn paltry)

HP:
I enjoy Hermione/Lucius...HG/Sirius...HG/Lupin...but I'm not sure if those quite count. These are of course, either of age fics or time travel fics.

i also enjoy Luna/Blaise and Ginny/Blaise. But mostly Luna/Blaise. I once read a fic where they were a side pair and it...kind of made sense. So...yeah. I just think Ginny/Blaise is quite sexy.

Hermione/Dean/Draco as friends though. They can be hilarious.

MCU: Steve Rogers/Wanda Maximoff

I really liked how understanding he was of where she and Pietro were coming from, and that he took her concerns about Tony Stark seriously. Plus, I think they'd have an interesting dynamic.

I have some fic in the planning stages, but haven't written any yet.
