Liking someone's work is not a judgment of their personality.

Ezra Pound was a real shit head, and I wouldn't care to know him personally, or endorse any of his political views. I also think he was good at writing poetry. I really don't see what's contradictory about that. It doesn't have anything to do with overlooking someone's awfulness;it's a separate, other thing.

I agree that you should think critically about what you support financially. But that's a separate question again
