YES! I especially hate it because I do ship Johnlock and some of the (saner) things some of the (saner) people say aren't completely ridiculous, it's just regular shipping stuff. But most of it is sooooooo far-fetched. The intensity and seriousness of it all completely freaks me out as well.

Johnlock is my OTP, and has been for ages; I ship it pretty hardcore. Which just makes the whole TJLC thing worse. I basically had to stop reading meta for the show entirely, because so much of it was TJLC meta, and it was making me feel CRAZY. It's such a mindfuck to listen to people proclaim things you wish were true, and string out these elaborate, complex arguments to "prove" that their ideas are true, and to constantly be having to think to yourself, "But that's not real. That's not what actually happened. That doesn't make sense."

If I didn't ship Johnlock, TJLC would just be annoying. But because I ship Johnlock, TJLC gets under my skin and I feel like I have to reject it a thousand times over again.
