The healthy ones don't, no. (I've known quite a few older people who don't do anything BUT watch TV.) But you could say the same thing about young(er) people with healthy, balanced social lives. Unless OP is so independently wealthy they don't need to work for a living, odds are there's a limit to how fast they can consume media. Then you have to factor in the reality that new media is being created all the time, plus the backlog of older media.

Bottom line is, they're not going to "run out of things to watch and read" as they get older.
