Eliot would be much more annoying if her relationship with Carla didn't work so well IMO

oh, true.

I'm not sure why Turk doesn't mitigate JD to that same extent (at least for me); I like Turk as much as I like Carla (meaning, they rank at the top of that list).

My theory is, Turk and JD's relationship is already super well-established, so they're not really helping each other grow. In contrast, Carla and Eliot's story is about them getting to know each other and changing each other. So ultimately, Carla and Eliot do a lot to ameliorate their most annoying qualities; on the other hand, Turk just abets or at best ignores JD's bullshit.

(Also, Carla and Eliot are in love, and they kiss each other all the time, this is definitely true)

Yeah, I think that's precisely it. Turk is goofy now and again, but at his core he's an adult, with more emotional maturity and self-awareness than JD.
