They hate women

Or, to be more charitable, both those shows would be more original - hence financially riskier, harder to justify to a network & much harder to write - than doing what they tried.

They don't "hate women", they like money. And, shows about women don't make money. If anyone "hates women" it's the audience - which for the CW ironically seems to be comprised mostly of female teenagers. Go lecture Tumblr about their internalized misogyny rather than clutch your pearls over the fact that people who are out to make money won't purposefully throw money away on shows that will fail.
