You can say whatever you want and intend to say whatever you mean, language is awesome that way. Whether or not other people are going to understand what you're saying is another story and there is clear confusion from a lot of parties on this particular issue since not everyone equates bottom with submissive.

Actually, that is a misuse of the terms and has lead to a lot of conflating bed position with dom/sub roles. Which is one thing I absolutely can't stand. Who takes it up the ass does not have to correlate with who submits.

I didn't say anything about asses. People use top to mean dom and bottom to mean sub, even without asses coming into play.

But my point is those terms traditionally mean person penetrating and person doing the penetrating. And using them to mean dom/sub has been a large part of the cause of the conflation of sex positions with sex roles.
